    Prescriptions

Once your animal’s disease or condition has been assessed, your vet will recommend the most appropriate medicine to treat the ailment.

As the owner, you will be fully advised on how to administer the drug with advice on warnings or contraindications.

A veterinary re-examination is required every three months for animals on long-term prescription medication.

If your pet is on long term medication, you can order repeat prescriptions between these veterinary checks. All repeat prescriptions must be authorised and dispensed by a veterinary surgeon. To save you any delay, please give 48 hours notice when ordering repeat prescriptions. In extreme circumstances (for example, if your pet needs ongoing medication and you have run out completely), it may be possible to prepare your pet’s medication more quickly – there would be a small additional fee for this.

Should you require a written prescription we are able to offer them on request for a fee of £19.50.
