Going Green at Quarry

Quarry Veterinary Group are aware that veterinary practices can have a negative impact on the environment due to the large use of single-use plastics, anaesthetic gas use and many other factors. Therefore, we are making a commitment to reduce resource use and take responsibility for our own carbon footprint.

In 2022 we are very proud to have achieved Bronze accreditation from Investors in the Environment (iiE). We are currently working towards our Silver award

We have identified the following key environmental impacts associated with the provision of veterinary care at Quarry Veterinary Group that contribute to our environmental and carbon footprint:

  • consumption of electricity, gas, water and other fuels
  • use of volatile anaesthetic gases
  • waste generation and disposal
  • paper usage

The policy will be reviewed annually as part of the organisations overall environment management plan.

We also have a collection box for medicine blister packets, which is part of the Terracycle recycling scheme. It is located in the porch to reception – please feel free to return all empty medicine blister packets that you have at home.

If you have any questions (or suggestions), please email Charlie Hertel at reception@quarryvets.co.uk.
