Going Green at Quarry

Quarry Veterinary Group are aware that veterinary practices can have a negative impact on the environment due to the large use of single-use plastics, anaesthetic gas use and many other factors. Therefore, we are making a commitment to reduce resource use and take responsibility for our own carbon footprint.

Having working our way through Bronze and Silver stautus, in 2024 we were very proud to have achieved Green accreditation, the top level award from Investors in the Environment (iiE). We have maintained our Green award status in 2025 and 2026

We have identified the following key environmental impacts associated with the provision of veterinary care at Quarry Veterinary Group that contribute to our environmental and carbon footprint:

  • consumption of electricity, gas, water and other fuels
  • use of volatile anaesthetic gases
  • waste generation and disposal
  • paper usage

The policy will be reviewed annually as part of the organisation’s overall environment management plan.

If you have any questions (or suggestions), please email Charlie Hertel at reception@quarryvets.co.uk.

We try to recycle as much as we can, which is why we have enrolled in the TerraCycle recycling scheme.
You can find a collection box for medicine blister packets in the porch next to our reception area. Please pop any medicine blister packets that you have at home in there, and we will ensure that they are recycled properly!
We also accept unused medications. Please leave these in the collection box.
